Emergency Tax To ensure you do not get emergency Tax, please submit your most recent P45 for current Tax year (January- December) to IRC Payroll with 1st Timesheet.
In the event you only have a P45 for a previous Tax year, or you have not paid tax in Ireland previously you must ring the Tax office on 1890333425, quoting unit number 959 & IRC Employers Tax number: 4740376L. Ensure you have your PPS number to hand when you call them. The Tax office will then send you a letter with Tax Credits, a copy of which will also be received by IRC. As you will receive your Tax credit's first, please fax it into payroll on receipt & they can organise your Tax appropriately, while waiting for their copy from revenue. All Tax is deducted based on information supplied by Revenue; emergency Tax is a result of information missing with Revenue, and it is the employee (you) who must provide this missing information, to avoid being over taxed. Any Tax rebate will be on instruction of Revenue.
